Week 2 :)

I believe that personal weapons should be panned. I think if personal weapons were allowed and owned by people, then there might be more temptations for people in using it. Besides that, if a parent owns a gun or some other dangerous weapon, then their children might accidently use it and hurt themselves or others. By banning personal weapons, this minimizes the injuries caused by personal weapons. Yes, it is true that personal weapons can help protect people when something dangerous happened, but there are always other ways to protect yourself such as calling the police or using self defense. Also, personal weapons should be panned because it will decrease the amount of people doing suicide using their own weapons. Although there can be other ways to do suicide; selling less weapons can stop some people from taking away their own lives. These are my reasons on why we should ban personal weapons.

  1. when people suicide, they dont just buy a weapon and just kill themselves, there is always a strong reason. This reason mostly because of depression or suppression from others. Weapons cannot stop other people from jumping off bridges and skyscrapers making themselves into a denver omulet.

  2. People use weapons to kill themselves because it is a much faster process of suicide. Instead of jumping off a cliff and going through pain, they can use a gun to kill themselves instantly. In addition, calling the police or using self defense is not always an option. The victum might not be able to defend themselves due to being tied up, being held, having a weapon put close to their neck/head, or worse. The police is also not a very good option. They might come too late. Or calling them might be a problem if the victum is in the criminal's sight. However, if the victum somehow got hold of the police on the phone, how is the victum suppposed to tell his/her location? They might be in an alley, in a moving vehicle, or lost.
