Aci debate2 hw; week 3 :

POWER OF STATES AND PEOPLE

The tenth amendment's meaning, defined by wikipedia is : " The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. ". This amendment is very important because the constitution itself cannot determine all the laws that are needed to best benefit the people of the United States so it leaves the laws that may need to be made in the future, decided by the State or the people. For Example: when the Bill of Rights was written, cars were not yet invented, and now, with our modern transportation, new laws are made by the State to make car driving more and more safer. The ten most important amendments are like the ten commandments. We, the people of the United States live our most basic lives based upon the ten amendments, but to make our lives more full, we must consider MUCH MORE laws that help benefit the majority of the people for the greater good.
